This out-of-the-ordinary Sauvignon Blanc comes from Mount Brown, who make our best ever selling wine, Wild River. So we knew it would be good… but not THIS good. Blimey.
The Catherine’s Block range is reserved for their best wines and here the team have produced an unusually rich, toasty and creamy style of Sauvignon Blanc thanks to a combination of barrel fermentation, extended lees ageing and not fining the wine before bottling, which is gives it a luxurious texture.
This producer harks from the foothills of Mount Brown where the team re-discovered an abandoned wine estate in 2002. Their expressive wines are due in part to the larger temperature variations between day and night compared to Marlborough.
