Tastes like: Citrus. Red apple. Greengage. Hint of baking spice. Vibrant. Fresh. Very dry.
The canny folk at Ancre Hill Estate have spent decades making leaps and bounds when it comes to winemaking innovation – and their latest release is unlike any other homegrown fizz on the market.
Pefriog is the Welsh word for “sparkling” and this biodynamic and organic sparkling wine has been created to be an approachable, fresh and frivolous fizz which represents ludicrously good value for its quality.
Richard and the team make The Pefriog using the same bottle fermentation method as in Champagne and it is 100% Pinot Noir from their biodynamic Monmouthshire estate.
For us, this incredibly more-ish, youthful and energetic wine is the perfect bottle for a fun celebration when you fancy a sizeable step up from Prosecco or most Cremant - and a bottle which is a real talking point to wow your friends with.
You’d be hopping mad not to buy a bottle.
