Aged just 10, Mario Pelassa was told to 'get on his bike' to help out with the family wine business and he did just that, cycling into Turin with flasks of Nebbiolo to sell.

A generation later his charismatic sons now run the 12 ha winery - and rest assured they're no longer in short trousers. In fact, Davide and Daniele have modernised the operation and Pelassa wines are really turning heads with the critics.

This Langhe is a beautifully made; unoaked, authentic and showing some deliciously developed characters. We love this expression of the Barbera and Nebbiolo grapes grown in this hilly Alba subregion.
