Graciano 'Mil Gracias', Bodegas Ochoa, Navarra
Thank the maker!
Tastes like: Black Fruit. Plum. Spice. Leather. Mineral. Full Bodied. Pleasant Tannins.
160 years of vineyard ownership - WOW. At Bodegas Ochoa they convey that in every bottle they produce, working with the utmost respect for the land and the family's long winemaking heritage.
The current custodians of this bodacious organic practicing winery are sisters Beatriz and Adriana who created Mil Gracias to quite literally say thank you to their father and grandfather for teaching them the merits of working with this marvellous indigenous grape variety; Graciano.
It's a classic blending partner in Navarra and the neighbouring Rioja region but here in this rather rare 100% Graciano expression the grape really shines, and a few years bottle-ageing makes this a round and developed wine.
It's a real treat and a tipple that will have you thanking your lucky stars you uncorked it.
