Chauveau Pouilly Fume, Loire
Kimmeridgian Class
Tastes like: Grapefruit. Citrus. pear. Melon. Minerals. Honey. Smokey.
The family has been making wine here for several generations, and Benoit has gradually taken over the vineyards since the mid 1990s. Today, the property comprises about fifteen hectares (37.5 acres) of Pouilly Fumé, Pouilly sur Loire and Coteaux du Giennois on various types of soil. This Pouilly Fumé comes kimmeridgian marl (Tiny oyster marl) soil on the right hand side of the Loire . This soil yields Pouilly Fumé wines with complex aromas which continue to develop and oh boy this is a great example.
One thing we love and matches our mantra is the approach to sustainability. They continually strive to improve the quality of the wines through the development of sustainable methods, using a strict minimum of products to treat the vines against the disease.
This wine will surprise and delight for any occasion. With a racy nose and superbly balanced this is an award winning stunned
