Catch'a bloody good wine!

AMALAYA, CATCHAQUI VALLEY MALBEC

Tastes like: Dark Fruits. Strawberry. Herbs. Sweet Spice. Oak. Liquorice. Violets. Velvety.

Amalaya translates as ‘hope for a miracle’ in the indigenous language of the now-extinct tribe, the Calchaquí. There is really no need for hope or a miracle with this award-winning wine.

Fruit-driven with real finesse. From the North of Argentina and part of the Hess family estates, the other thing we love is that this is produced with social responsibility, as with all the Hess wines.

A truly lovely example of a high-altitude Malbec. From the Calchaqui Valley in Salta comes this intensely fruity wine, packed with flavours of red berries, raspberries and plums alongside hints of pepper and vanilla. 85% Malbec, 10% Tannat, 5% Petit Verdot.

Argentina - 2020 - 14% - 75cl

Sustainable - High Altitude - Vegan - Vegetarian

Delish !

This was delicious! Full and Fruity! I heard there is a debate between the chilled and tannin team about which Malbec is best. This is a winner for me though!

Very impressed

Tried this as I do like a Mabec wine. I do prefer buying South American wines. Following trying it I found out that I was an award winner. It is definitely one that I would buy again.

Delicious!

Blackcurrants and cherry are the order of the day for me, backed up with a light touch of vanilla and subtle
Black pepper, perhaps a gentle chocolate note coming through too. Punchy at 14%, certainly fuller in body and fairly bold, with silky tannins adding to the complexity. Enjoyed alongside some lightly smoked cheddar.
