Tempranillo, Bodegas Máximo, Tierra de Castilla, Castilla-La Mancha
In life, some things are worth the effort...
Tastes like: Ripe Cherries. Plum. Smoke. Spices. Tobacco. Velvety. Smooth Tannin. Liquorice. Mint.
This wine maxes out on taste and value but is pleasingly low in sulphites/sulphur. It punches well above its pricepoint and is a real crowd pleaser. It heralds from Bodegas Máximo which was founded in 2002 to produce modern style wines that offer exceptional value while retaining their ‘sense of place’. We certainly think this wine has a place in our world!
A beautiful ruby colour wine, from the famed, aromatic Tempranillo grape. Aged for six months in American and French oak to add a touch of spicy complexity it has since spent half a decade in bottle developing alluring smoky, savoury flavours.
Spain - 2015 - 13.5% - 75cl
This was a lovely bottle! I had to battle my partner for the last glass. Tastes like cherries and left me with a caramel smooth finish.
This is a great bottle of wine, very smooth and balanced, with notes of strong cherry/plum mixed with liquorice and tobacco, not too sharp or weak, just great! Goes well with a cheeseboard and Spanish tapas.
