Hail the father of Barbaresco  Domizio Cavazza...

Tastes like: Intense. Dried Violets. Kirsch Cherries. Caramel. Tobacco. Enveloping Tannin. Full.

We’ve personally selected and imported some beautiful wines from Tenuta Baràc. This magical organic producer works in perfect harmony with our sustainable philosophy and produces absolutely stunningly bodacious wines to go with it.

Nebbiolo - THE GRAPE OF KINGS. We just love Barbaresco. Full bodied and refined this is a wine that’s drinking beautifully now but has the structure to continue developing in bottle for many, many years to come.

The vineyard sites are located south of the river Tanaro and they receive a slight Mediterranean maritime influence which allows the Nebbiolo grape to ripen a little earlier than it does in neighbouring Barolo, meaning the tannins will soften quicker – hence why this baby drinks so well now (though we recommend 30-60 minutes decant time for this tipple before you tuck in).

Barbaresco’s notoriety and existence is largely thanks to Domizio Cavazza, a visionary gent who recognised the merits of ‘Nebbiolo di Barbaresco’ in the 1800s and founded the first cooperative in the area, Cantine Social.

This outstanding wine has spent 12 months in big French oak barrels and another couple of years in bottle before being sent to Chilled & Tannin straight from Baràc’s cellars.

The alluring, pronounced aromas will have you spellbound and then this sultry lady will dance away over your tastebuds leaving you quivering for more.

This was an exceptional year for Barbaresco. The boffins at Decanter Magazine rated the vintage 5/5 - testament to quality of this stunning region and it’s talented producers.

Tenuta Baràc have the upmost respect for the terroir and the indigenous flora and fauna, integrating their vineyards and winery into the surrounding environment and creating an sustainable approach which maintains the biodiversity by practicing organic agriculture.
