Die Kliphuis Chenin Blanc, Roodekrantz, Swartland
Dis so lekker!
Tastes like: Elegant. Crisp. Citrus fruits. Custard apple. White Peach. Floral. Herby.
The Burger and Morkel families released the first Roodekrantz wines in 2015 and they are committed to preserving ancient Certified Old Vine Heritage Vineyards – making wines that express the unique character of each site. In many ways they are restoring the former glory of good South Africa Chenin Blanc, one old vine at a time.
Die Kliphuis is a south-facing vineyard in Swartland, with sandy, decomposed granite soils that add a unique mineral character to the wine. In the capable hands of the Roodekrantz team, this vineyard containing old vines from 1977 has lovingly been bought back to life, resulting in only the best fruit for a top tier Chenin Blanc with lots of complexity.
This is the most premium chenin we have probably every stocked, and we have very limited stock. Our South African team member actually got emotional when tasting it, so you know it is the real deal!
