Casa Ferreirinha 'Planalto' Branco, Douro
Can Douro Attitude
Tastes like: Citrus. Tropical notes. Fresh. Floral. Mineral.
Casa Ferreirinha were the first Douro producer to shun making port and to focus solely on still wine production - and we're delighted they did, as their wines are delicious and ludicrous value for money!
Their wines are made entirely with a plethora of indigenous grape varieties and the winery itself is named after
Dona Antónia Ferreira, a legendary 19th century businesswomen whose determined and visionary approach put the cat amongst the pigeons in the Douro.
'Planalto' translates as 'high plains' and the altitude of the vineyards where these grapes patiently ripen helps the wines retain freshness and delicacy.
