Basilicata Bianco Vignali IGT, Cantina di Venosa, Basilicata
Wine from the Land of Horace
Tastes like: Lemon. Tropical. Fennel. Almond. Mineral. Bittersweet finish.
This wine comes from the somewhat overlooked region around Venosa - once home to the Ancient Roman poet Horace, who was himself a keen winemaker (and partial to a jar or two!)
Here the volcanic soils of Basilicata produce expressive wines with a characteristic minerality and this brilliant Bianco is a fitting expression of the terroir.
Made with a harmonious blend of Chardonnay, Greco and Malvasia this unoaked white is vinous poetry in motion.
Cantina di Venosa have pioneered a sustainable philosophy in the region, using photovoltaic energy in the winery to reduce CO2, integrated pest management in the vineyards and over 70% recycled glass for their bottles.
