They say that a genius picks green - and when one of our founders Alex first tasted this very special Vinho Verde he immediately listed it (and felt like a very clever fellow indeed!)
This Northern Portuguese wine region is famed for its luscious foliage and straw-coloured and sometimes slightly effervescent wines.
Entry-level bottles often represent incredible bang for your buck but Vinho Verde also produces some superb premium quality vinho (aka Escolha) and this low intervention, sustainable example gives many esteemed cru white wines from around the world a run for their money (and still at a fraction of the price).
Made using the indigenous Loureiro grape and picked early for freshness this wine also has the structure and acidity to age in bottle if you can resist opening it.
