This full boded yet charming premium Chardonnay comes from a historic family winery in Napa Valley whose custodians have proudly Welsh roots. Gwych! 🏴
The Trefethens are based in Oak Knoll and have been making a name for themselves since establishing their winery there in the 60s and 70s.
Their much-loved Nana, Catherine, harked from Wales and had a legendary passion for wine which clearly rubbed off on the rest of the family.
The estate has scooped numerous accolades for its sustainability and the Trefethens take pride in promoting biodiversity of plant and wildlife on the vineyard as well as reducing water use and offsetting all their electricity usage with solar panels.
The label epitomises this philosophy and features much of the flora and fauna that lives in the vineyard.
The wine is estate grown Chardonnay which is fermented in part in oak and aged for 9 month in barrels to give the top quality juice a lovely richness.
