Italian rosato is so hot right now (the last parcel we imported sold out almost overnight!) and this pucker pink wine from one of our favourite Italian family producers is a smashing example. 

Tenuta Montauto grow their grapes following organic principles only a few kilometres from the Tuscan coast where the oceanic influences allow the grapes to develop fully and slowly in the Maremma sunshine.

Owner Riccardo Lepri took over the estate after his grandfather Enos in 2001. Alongside winemaker Fabrizio Moltard, they decided to focus on producing mainly white wines, unusual for an area famed for Classico reds and Super Tuscans.

This wine is 100% Sangiovese, the region’s famous red grape, and is delicately crushed with just a kiss of skin contact to add its pretty pink shade.
