Zweigelt is grape we’d like to see much more of here in the UK and if you appreciate lighter, lower-alcohol red wines – like Pinot Noir – then this could be your new favourite variety!
This modern expression comes from female winemaker Heidi Fischer and her brother Roman Josef Pfaffl and it’s so good it’ll have you yodelling for another bottle!
The siblings focus on making no-nonsense wines using a natural approach and minimum tinkering around in their Weinviertel winery near Vienna.
It’s no wonder they were awarded the title of European Winery of the Year 2016 by Wine Enthusiast Magazine.
