Known as Macabeo in some circles, this grape is like that friend who shows up to every party with a different outfit and personality. One day it’s fresh and zesty, the next it’s rich and nutty, and sometimes it even sparkles (literally, in Cava)!

In this case we have the Paso de la Capula Viura from Freebird Wine Co, a still white wine that is fresh and zesty, but also a little bit nutty. As we are all a bit nutty here at Chilled & Tannin HQ this wine feels perfectly on brand for us. 

This is also a fantastic foodie wine that pairs well with Asian dishes, especially those with coconut curries or vermicelli noodle bowls or with fattier pork dishes like sticky pork belly bites. It’s like a culinary trip South Eastern Asia without leaving your dining room.
