Bardolino is sometimes - rather unfairly - overlooked outside of Italy as a bit of a footnote appellation when it comes to the more trendy vini from the Veneto region such as Valpolicella and Prosecco.
Steeped in tradition, we prefer to call this picturesque stretch of vineyards a proper old-school gem that is timeless and well worth delving into the wine crates for.
It lies West of Lake Garda and South of the foothills ti the alps, giving its wines a wonderful freshness. They can be fairly hard to find in the UK so we snapped up this rare rosato banger as soon as we sampled it.
It’s made predominantly with Corvina grapes and a splash of Rondinella and Molinara, giving it a perfect hue of pink, an expressive nose and complex flavours that will leave your tastebuds dancing. It really is a treat for rosé lovers new to this appellation as well as the original Bard-core ravers.
