Carmenere Reserva, Zapallares, San Antonio
This gives me a real Zap - a GOOD Zap!
Tastes like: Cherry. Raspberry. Savoury. Smoky.
Dom, one of our founders, says Chile is one of the most mesmerising places he's visited on his wine journey so far...
This classically styled Carmenere is made from a single vineyard of 60-year-old vines in Apalta. Vibrant, spicy black fruit palate with plush tannins, hints of dried herbs and subtle oak structure. A versatile food wine for hearty winter dishes.
This full-bodied grape is a bit of an enigma itself. Having become practically extinct in its homeland of France in the 1800s, Chilean winemakers discovered in the 1970s that much of the thriving Merlot they’d been farming for generations was, in fact, Carménère
Classical in style. Juicy, easy drinking and with just a touch of oak, elegant tannins and a sophisticated finish.
