Moulin des Chenes Lirac
SCMG - Syrah Cinsault Mourvèdre Grenache
Tastes Like: Garrigue herbs. Black Cherry. Liquorice. Splice. Silky.
This comes from old vines, some over fifty years in age, rooted in the classic Lirac mix of sandy soils and the region's iconic galets roulés (those big, heat-retaining pebbles).
The wine is made with minimal fuss - wild yeast fermentation, aging in a combination of concrete and seasoned oak. The winemakers believe this hands-off approach allows the character of the Lirac terroir to shine through. Biodynamic principles further strengthen that connection to their land. If you crave bold fruit bombs, this isn't your bottle. But if you relish the quiet complexity and savory side of the Rhône, the Moulin des Chênes is well worth seeking out.
