1983 Chenin Blanc, Roodekrantz, Swartland
Acceptable in the 80s. Exceptional today.
Tastes like: Ripe Citrus. Stone Fruit. White Peach. Zesty. Subtle Oak.
The Burger and Morkel families released the first Roodekrantz wines in 2015 and they are committed to preserving ancient Certified Old Vine Heritage Vineyards – making wines that express the unique character of each site.
The 1983 in the name relates to the age of the once-neglected bush vines and this four-decades-old vineyard is now lovingly-tended to and certainly expresses itself through added complexity in the juice.
We can’t get enough Chenin Blanc and this is really one of the best examples in our range!
As well as lashing of stone fruit and zesty citrus the wine has some subtle oak influence which gives it a more-ish richness and complexity.
