Marlborough Pinot Noir, Tinpot Hut
You herd it here first...
Tastes like: Bramble Fruits. Plum. Black Cherry. Toasty Oak. Savoury Mushroom.
We are loving Fiona Turner’s Tinpot Hut. The name comes from the corregated tinpot hut that was used by musterers in the remote hills between the Wairau and Awatere Valleys. These huts were used as a base for musterers who were responsible for rounding up the sheep that had been in the hills from spring to autumn.
Intense on the nose with classic black cherry standing out. This wine has silky soft tannins that are complimented by a lovely toasty oak flavour. We feel this is really well balanced and represents great value for a New Zealand Pinot Noir.
