Pinot Noir Précoce Reserve, White Castle Vineyard, Abergavenny
World Class Welsh Pinot
Tastes like: Red Fruits. Blackberry. Vanilla. Light Oak. Smoke. Well-integrated Tannins.
Robb and NIcola Merchant from White Castle vineyard near Abergavenny are among the pioneering winemakers putting exciting Welsh wines on the map. Their Pinot Noir Précoce has scooped top medals in some of the most respected global wine competitions in the last few years - and the latest vintage is tipped for glory too.
We've bagged a few bottles of this highly sought-after tipple and it is truly a wine that Pinot aficionados will not want to miss.
Harvested during September, the 100% estate-grown grapes were fermented in stainless steel and matured in oak barrels. Robb is meticulous about bottling only when the wine is ready and the result is well worth the wait.
Owned by Robb and Nicola Merchant, White Castle is brimming with life and character much like their wines. Having purchased the small holding in 1995 they realised their dream of planting vines in 2009. Now they have nearly 7000 vines basking in the Welsh sun.
