La Petite Muraille, Corbières
High Occitanie
Tastes like: Bramble fruit. Plummy. Peppery. Perfumed. Orange peel. Grippy Tannins.
The Bories family have been making wine in Corbières since 1896 and they have some of the oldest vines in the Languedoc, which they now farm organically.
We visited the Languedoc in 2015 and fell in love with the wines. Corbieres-Boutenac in the Aude is one of our favorite spots - dotted with Abbeys, strewn with scented garrigue and a bit more sheltered from the fierce Occitanie winds.
This AOC also makes arguably the best wines in the region and Domaine Le Champ des Murialles is the top dog winery.
This is their wonderfully polished 'second wine' made with 70% Grenache and 30% Carignan. It punches well above its weight and at a fraction of the price of their 'grand vin'!
