"Best Siran Ever”

Tastes like: Currants. Wild Strawberry. Cassis. Nutmeg. Savoury. Exotic Spice. Sappy. Fine Tannins.

Harking from Margaux - one of the Left-Bank’s most revered appellations - the 2015 vintage has been muted as the best Siran of all time.

It’s a blend of 55% Merlot, 38% Cabernet Sauvignon and 7% Petit Verdot spending 12 months maturing in 35% new oak barrels.

The wine is beginning its long, long drinking window and it will continue to age and develop over the next 25 years - which is why we’ve released it as part of our Laid Down & Tannin range.

The Siran estate dates back over 370 years and the story goes that the family who ran the estate actually turned down the opportunity to be included in the famous 1855 classification which has since given some estates god-like status.

Thankfully this decision means you can enjoy a bottle of this bodacious wine for a fraction of the price of the big classified Margaux wines.

Our LAID DOWN & TANNIN range features wines which we’ve bought on release from the Château and allowed to age in bonded storage before plucking them from our stash so that you can snaffle them away yourself or give them to a wine loving chum as a gift to enjoy (together hopefully) in years to come.

Critical acclaim:

“Lustrous dark crimson. Really polished and compelling on the nose. Very round and ripe yet with lovely freshness. The best Siran I remember tasting! Really sappy and energetic.” - Jancis Robinson MW
