Beacon Down Medium Sweet Riesling (37.5cl)
Dreams so sweet of a long English summer...
Tastes like: Creamy. Peach. Mango. Honey.
Beacon Down is a new and exciting vineyard in East Sussex. Paul & Al Pippard gave up the London rat race and planted their beautiful plot. We have fallen in love with their passion and enthusiasm so we thought we had to have their wine in our range.
A unique English wine, a medium-sweet still Riesling. Ripened in the glorious summer of 2018, and picked late in October. It is a soft and opulent wine. We liked drinking this at the end of a meal, maybe after one of Rhod's famous Sunday roasts (which he has baked beans with?) with a selection of punchy cheeses.
To ripen Riesling in the UK’s cool climate and produce a still wine with acids in balance is a real challenge and a great success. They have chosen the grapes carefully, pressed gently, fermented in stainless steel and bottled by hand. This is a real treat and comes in a stunning bottle with a beautiful wax seal.
Please note this is a half size bottle: 375ml.
