País & Moscatel Reserva, Ventisquero, Maule Valley
If Chile made Beaujolais...
Tastes like: Cherries. Strawberries. Wild flowers. Earthy. Savoury. Light bodied.
País was an almost forgotten grape in Chile – found growing as old bushes in remote hill sites – but it’s enjoying a real resurgence, particularly as a tasty alternative to French Beaujolais.
This excellent example is 85% País, blended with Moscatel (Muscat) and partly aged in French oak for 8 months making for a light, characterful and incredibly drinkable red. Try it slightly chilled!
