Domaine Sève is a small but impeccable family property that lies on the steep slopes overlooking Solutre, one of the finest of all the Macon Villages and the very core of the appellation, which has now been awarded the coveted Premier Cru status.

Sylvie and Jean Pierre Sève, the current generation, use oak barrels carefully not only to create oaky flavours but also to allow an exchange between oxygen which patiently develops wine.

"Aux Chailloux", is an exceptional terroir of the hamlet of Pouilly, where the clay-limestone, marly subsoil gives a wine very rich in fine, delicate aromas and expressing itself after 10 months of vinification in French oak barrels, both new and up to five years old.

This is a wine we fell in love with. You just get the feeling it has been produced with patience and passion. The results are stunning with a rich palate, a lovely buttery nuttiness and a very very long finish. All in all it represents a brilliant example of Pouilly Fuisse at its best.
