A little bit of Côt is all you need...

Tastes Like: Fresh Plums. Cassis. Cherry. Delicate. Juicy. Medicinal Herbs.

Malbec’s spiritual home is Argentina, but its ancestral roots are firmly in the South of France, where locals call it Cot. The ‘black wines of Cahors’ have been handcrafted since the Middle Ages, and the family-run Château du Cèdre is one of this dramatic region’s elite. The Vineyard was started in 1958, by planting some vines on vineyard land devastated by the frosts in 1956.

They have added one more hectare of vineyards in three different plots every year. The estate is now run by Pascal and Jean-Marc who studied winemaking in Burgundy & California, and Bordeaux. The estate has been certified organic since 2012.

Dom is a big lover of Côt having visited the region regularly on summer jaunts. He passionately believes there is not enough love for the French Malbec's, which are wonderfully diverse. In Camille we have a young juicy little number.

Unfettered by oak, this brambly, plummy organic red is dark and brooding but has a wonderful purity. Need we say more?

Refreshing

This was a very refreshing wine, tasted light and summery. Nice after a meal or maybe some nibbles.
